Clinical Trials

Neurodevelopmental Biology in Preschool Children
We invite you to participate in a research study assessing how stress affects young children. Eligible participants will receive free comprehensive educational, developmental, health and psychiatric evaluations, which can be shared with your childŐs providers in the community to improve overall physical and mental health and education. You may be eligible if you have a child between the ages of 3-10; AND your biological or adoptive child has experienced an abusive or neglectful situation; OR you would like to participate as a healthy control. Special interest in international adoptions. Compensation available. If interested, please call LoriAnn at (843) 876-1507 or e-mail ueberro@musc.edu for more details. This study is being conducted within the Pediatrics Dept. at Rutledge Tower and Dr. Eve Spratt is Primary Investigator and will provide free medical assessments.

Video Game Vision Screening
Do your children enjoy playing video games? Would you like them to have a FREE comprehensive eye exam? Storm Eye Institute is conducting a clinical trial to validate a new vision screening tool for children using "video game" technology. Children should be 8-15 years old with no developmental delays, psychiatric disorders or ADD. Parent must attend in order to provide informed consent. Children will receive a full comprehensive dilated eye exam by a pediatric ophthalmologist at no charge. Call Stephen at (843) 792-3948 or e-mail skeltons@musc.edu.

All information is confidential and compensation is available. Call LoriAnn at (843) 876-1507 or e-mail ueberro@musc.edu for more information.

High Blood Pressure Study
Has your child been told he has high blood pressure? A study is being conducted to examine an investigational medication, given by mouth, which may help to decrease your child's blood pressure. Compensation available. Call (843) 792-7857 for more information.

Treatment of Adolescents with Alcohol Use Problems
