MUSC Children's Health System ("MUSC") provides this Web site as a community service to parents and
others seeking information and education on matters relating to children's health and well being.
Your privacy is important to MUSC. This Privacy Policy will tell you what information we collect,

1. What personal information does MUSC collect?
You may use the MUSC site without providing any personal information; however, use of certain
services on the site may require personal information.
You may be asked to provide personal information such as name, address, e-mail address, and phone
number, as well as demographic information about your family, if you choose to submit any of the
online forms used, for example, when you:
- register for a class
- register for our e-mail newsletter
- respond to surveys and questionnaires (such as eNurse)
- online donation form
If you choose to make an online purchase from our site, you will be asked to provide your credit
card information to complete the transaction.
Except where MUSC specifically requests, MUSC does not wish to receive personal or other confidential
information from you via the Internet.
2. How is the collected information used?
MUSC uses the collected information only to provide you with the services you have requested.
MUSC will not disclose the personal information you provide on the site to any outside organization
except when we have your permission, or to process credit card information or under special
circumstances, such as when we feel it is necessary to protect our rights or the rights of others,

3. Does MUSC use "cookies" to collect user information?
"Cookies" are small computer files that a Web site can transfer to your computer to track Web site
use and customize sites according to user preferences. MUSC does not use cookies on its site at this
time.
Often advertisers will place their own cookies on a site user's computer. However, at present MUSC
does not accept third party advertisements on its site.
4. How does MUSC protect personal information?
MUSC wants your personal information to remain as secure as possible. Accordingly, we use industry
standard efforts, such as encryption software, to protect the confidentiality of your personal
information.

The MUSC site provides links to other sites that we believe may be of interest to you. Please be
aware that this Privacy Policy applies only to the MUSC site and does not apply to sites that MUSC
links to. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of other sites before providing them with

The Federal Trade Commission has issued special laws protecting the collection and transfer of
children's personal information on the Internet. MUSC is committed to protecting the privacy of
children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
