General Pediatrics
The division of general pediatrics provides inpatient and outpatient care to all children. Our hospitalists provide care on the inpatient units of MUSC's Children's Hospital. We also care for most of the infants in the Level I Newborn Nursery. Our Pediatric Primary Care provides outpatient care on the 3rd floor of Rutledge Tower. The clinic is open Monday - Friday, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., with appointments scheduled before 4 p.m. On nights and weekends, both pediatric residents and pediatric faculty members are available by phone for our patients.
Almost all faculty members are fellowship trained in general pediatrics or clinical research, and all have active research interests. Some of our areas of expertise include environmental health, toxicology, immunizations, medication prescribing errors, medical education, international health, school-based health care, asthma care, medical informatics, and quality of care.
