Adolescent Medicine
Adolescent medicine at MUSC Children's Hospital represents all of the individuals, team and programs
dedicated to assisting children and adolescents with the transition period between childhood and
adulthood. This period is filled with major changes in physical maturity and sexuality, cognitive
processes (ways of thinking and thought content), emotional feelings, and relationships with
others. Addressing the healthcare needs of this age group requires not only addressing identified
health concerns, but also considering the complicated interactions of developmental changes on
healthcare needs, the effectiveness of treatment, health education, and health promotion.
We offer an adolescent medicine clinic located on the 4th floor of Rutledge Tower on the main
campus of MUSC. Our clinic is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 5 p.m., and on Fridays from
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
