Vote Online for the Card of the Season
Five young, local artists have been selected for the 16th Annual "Kids Helping Kids" Holiday Card Project Card of the Season. For the first time ever, the public can select which one will be the official "Card of the Season." Voting runs through July 31, 2008. Vote now
Key West Boats Fishing for Miracles
Fish South Carolina's largest King Mackerel tournament for a chance at more than $115,000 in prizes. Come out and be a part of an event that's fun for the whole family. The tournament will be held at Ripley Light Yacht Club from August 14-16, 2008. Boat entry fee before July 31 is $295. After July 31, entry fee is $350. Proceeds benefit MUSC Children's Hospital. An Intimate Evening with Al Green
Join us Saturday, July 26, for An Intimate Evening with Al Green presented by Baker Motors and benefiting the MUSC Children's Hospital Fund. You will not want to miss this event at the Charleston Music Hall, 37 John Street. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale June 18 online at www.etix.com and at all Cats and Monster Music locations. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Children's Hospital Fund.
More aid for Medicaid
The Bowman family is traveling to Washington today to lobby for federal support of children's hospitals through better Medicaid funding. They will join families served by more than 30 hospitals across the country in an effort organized by the National Association of Children's Hospitals.
More than 50 percent of the patients seen at MUSC Children's Hospital receive Medicaid, according to hospital Administrator John Sanders. '(The legislators') decisions on funding affect the services we provide,' Sanders said.
